11:30 am – noon • Week of the Young Child
Special StoryTime! "The Family Book" by Todd Parr. Afterward, children can create a family tree.

2:00 – 2:45 pm • Arbor Day Storytime
Celebrate Arbor Day by reading "The Giving Tree" by Shel Silverstein. Then join us to learn about Arbor Day and make a recycled craft!

May the Fourth be With You! Special Activities planned all weekend! See below.

10:30 am • Children's Book Week
A special StoryTime! with "Outer Space Bedtime Race" by Rob Sanders.

5:00 – 8:00 pm • Get Into It! FREE
The museum stays open late with free admission and activities. This night kicks off a special themed-weekend of "May the Fourth" activities through Sunday!
An Open Arms program.

5:00 – 6:00 pm • ELLI Open House
Explore our preschool classroom at the museum for 3 - 5 years olds and meet with an ELLI staff member.

Thursday, May 4 – Sunday, May 7 • May the Fourth be with you!

Celebrating sci-fi, science and space! Join us for a weekend of space-themed fun and learning. Come dressed as your favorite character or show off your favorite sci-fi tee shirt. Our "May the Fourth" weekend blasts-off on Thursday, May 4.

Make a UFO using everyday household items that will rival the Millennium Falcon!

2:00 – 2:30 pm • Rocket Science
Pilot your own bottle shaped rocket high into the sky with a Chewbacca-sized stomp!

3:15 – 3:45 pm • Jedi Forces
Channel your inner Yoda and learn about invisible forces and how static/magnetic forces work.

Nano Science – Explore the concept of nano technology and nano science by experimenting with some nano activities. For children ages 2 and older.

Sunday, April 30
2:00 pm • Show Me a Tale

How Night Came – Long, long ago, at the beginning of time, the daughter of the Great Sea Serpent brought shadows from the depths of the ocean to create night on earth. After the story, children will create sculptures in the Afro-Brazilian ferramentaria style (metal-smithing). Limited space – get tickets at the Welcome Desk. For children ages 5 and older.
