Full Time

Staff Accountant
Stepping Stones is seeking a seasoned Staff Accountant who will support the Manager of Finance and assist in performing accounting functions including preparation of accounts payable, check disbursements, positive pay authorizations, and daily deposits. This individual will be responsible for compiling and analyzing a variety of accounting and financial data, preparing and auditing journal entries, analyzing accounts, auditing ledgers, reconciling accounts and preparing related reports.

Ideal candidate should possess a college degree with major in accounting with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an accountant preferably with a not for profit. Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet deadlines. Strong system  and computer skills including hands on experience using other accounting systems, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point and Vista; proven ability to learn new systems and software. Hands on experience with accounting systems preferably Financial Edge. Must exhibit confidentiality in dealing with all information and data. Focus on consistently providing quality service to visitors or internal clients; strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with staff, visitors, volunteers and community partners. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Creative problem-solving skills; proven ability to recommend and implement process improvements and new initiatives; strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Exhibit sensitivity to diversity including individuals with physical challenges or special needs.

Director of Facilities
As leader of the Facilities team, the Director of Facilities is responsible for development and implementation of all activities and tasks related to facility support and security at Stepping Stones. Responsible for direct supervision of facility, grounds and exhibits and safety/security support staff. Manages both staff and contract resources to ensure a world class facility experience that is safe, clean, comfortable and welcoming at all times.

Ideal candidate should possess 15+ years in Facility Management/Maintenance Leadership at a large multi-acre facility, preferably in a public building environment or cultural institution. Must have current knowledge of trends in facility management and best practices. Expert knowledge and background on HVAC, building controls software, plumbing, electrical, lighting and fire safety equipment. Proven track record of consistently providing quality service to visitors and internal clients; strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with staff, visitors, volunteers and community partners. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Creative problem-solving skills; proven ability to recommend and implement process improvements and new initiatives; strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Sensitive to diversity including individuals with physical challenges or special needs.

Payroll and HRIS Specialist
The Payroll and HRIS Specialist oversees all the payroll functions for the organization including processing bi-weekly payroll and benefits deductions. This individual is accountable for the internal procedures required to process payroll services to all SSMC employees in a consistently accurate and timely manner. This individual must be skilled at working under tight deadlines and remain mindful at all times of confidentiality and privacy. This role will require the ability to handle complex payroll and benefit deduction related inquires or problems and ensure quick resolution while interfacing with all levels of employees and management.

Traveling Exhibits Manager
Award-winning children’s museum seeks self-directed, marketing/sales professional to manage all aspects of the museum’s new traveling exhibit program, including outbound/inbound rentals. Role entails business planning, marketing, sales, customer service, exhibit installation support, training and evaluation. Must have exhibit experience or very relevant background to be considered. Heavy lifting and travel required.

Visitor Experience
Stepping Stones Museum for Children is seeking a team player with strong communication and customer service skills to work in our award-winning galleries. Facilitate interactive learning through programs and gallery activities. Flexible part time morning, afternoon and weekend schedule up to 20 hours per week. Degree in early childhood or elementary education preferred. Requires a minimum of two years prior customer service experience in a child oriented environment.
