Testimonials
"Working at Stepping Stones has been one of the most beneficial and enjoyable intern experiences in college. Not only was I treated as part of the team in the Development Department, but I also was able to gain the experience necessary for the future. I learned how to research, develop and make recommendations based on information that I had gathered on my own. I also developed a better understanding of what it is like to work in a non-profit setting and I became skilled at writing letters of inquiry and putting together prospect worksheets. I was also able to fine-tune my skills as working together as part of a team and to develop more confidence in taking initiative for different research into potential corporate, foundation and individual donors. The internship would be valuable to anyone who is looking for an amazing experience.” Morgan West, Fairfield University, Class of 2007.
"I could not be happier with my internship at Stepping Stones. It has fulfilled and exceeded my expectations. The wonderful staff valued my input from the very beginning, allowing me not only to observe, but also to jump right in and participate from day one. As the Education Programs Intern, I was allowed to try my hand at everything- ranging from researching potential performers to teaching a workshop. I gained valuable experience by seeing firsthand the inner workings of a children's museum. My internship at Stepping Stones allowed me to see which elements of an Education Department I would ultimately like to be involved with, and gave me so much insight into my future career goals. Before I came to Stepping Stones, I had no museum experience, and now leaving, I am confident that I have the tools I need to secure my first job in the museum world.” Kristin Nelson, Washington University in St. Louis, Class of 2006.
