Discover a variety of programs and activities in which children and families can have fun playing and learning together. 

All programs are free with museum admission unless otherwise noted and are subject to change without notice. Space may be limited. First-come, first-served. Ages are recommendations and may vary depending on the activity. (i.e. small parts, ages 5 and older).

The FTRC draws from the ELLI approach by helping children explore different topics that encourage literacy and storytelling.

Fitness Fun 

Daily, 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. 
Get moving in new ways every day with one of these energizing programs: Yoga and Ready, Set, Go! Ages vary each week.


Daily, 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. 
Take part in an interactive read-aloud of a story specifically curated to increase your child’s understanding of our monthly theme.

The goal of this program is for children (and their families) to understand how the world and the things in it work and operate as well as why some things happen the way they do.

Dan, Dan the Music Man 

Daily, 3 p.m.
Take center stage, keep to the beat, and stomp with joy during special themed jam sessions with talented musician Dan, Dan the Music Man.

World Wise

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12:15 p.m.  
Peppy professor Zelda helps young children expand their knowledge of the alphabet and numbers. For ages 36 months and younger.

Storytellers: Mutt-i-grees®  

Tuesdays and Saturdays, 1:30 p.m. 
Listen to a canine story and visit with a shelter dog for social and emotional learning. Shelter dogs courtesy of P.A.W.S. For ages 3 years and older.

My Ability  

Thursdays, 3:30 p.m. 
All families are invited to play and learn at Stepping Stones. My Ability is a supportive program designed to facilitate sensory-friendly discoveries for individuals with sensory processing differences and other special needs.

Monthly Programs 

Sensory-friendly Program – ACCESS-ability 

Third Monday of every month, 2-5 p.m. 
Stepping Stones modifies the learning environment to create a supportive, sensory-friendly experience for individuals with sensory processing differences and other special needs. Free with registration. 

An Open Arms program. 

Ask A Professional 

Third Thursday of every month, 5:30-6:30 p.m. 
This free monthly series connects caregivers with community resources and expertise in child development, behavior, and learning. Free childcare for children 18 months and older with registration.
