Stepping Stones is a 501(c)3 non-profit children’s museum. More than 50% of the museum’s revenue comes from corporate sponsorships, foundation and government grants and individual giving. We rely on donors like you to keep our mission going.
At the heart of Stepping Stones is a dedicated commitment for all children and families to access museum offerings known as Open Arms. Open Arms serves more than 50,000 guests each year, supporting multicultural and multilingual interests, free or reduced fees and other important needs. More than 1.3 million individuals have participated in this outstanding program since the museum opened in March 2000.

Stepping Stones is a vital “third space” providing children with a safe, inclusive environment to learn and build literacy skills in the landscape that exists between school and home.
Uncover their own capabilities and interests, and discover they can use their voices to contribute to their communities and improve the world around them.
Become lifelong learners and build confidence, social-emotional skills and the resiliency needed to overcome challenges.
Learn critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and teamwork that will help them become innovators and leaders in adulthood.
Develop a sense of stewardship and agency for the environment.
