The Family Nutrition Workshop Series at Stepping Stones welcomes families for six engaging, practical sessions designed to make healthy eating, nutrition and wellness easier to support at home. Through interactive discussions and hands-on learning, families will gain simple, everyday strategies, helpful resources and the confidence to build healthy habits that can last a lifetime.

Rachel Goldberg-Gell, APRN
Rachel is a nurse practitioner who specializes in pediatric endocrinology. She treats children and adolescents who have obesity, insulin resistance, lipid disorders, and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). She also provides care for teens undergoing bariatric surgery.

Kristen Smaldone, MS, RD, CSP, CDN
Kristen is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years of experience in Pediatric Endocrinology. Her nursing career began in 1993 at Yale New Haven Hospital, where she worked as a Pediatric Nurse across several clinical settings. In 1998, Kristen became a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and spent the early part of my advanced practice career in Pediatric Oncology.

Anthony is Professor of Pediatrics and Associate Chief of Pediatric Gastroenterology at Yale School of Medicine. A nationally recognized pediatric gastroenterologist, he specializes in digestive health and nutrition, helping children and families manage gastrointestinal conditions while promoting lifelong healthy habits.

Jackie is a pediatric dietitian and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital. She works with children and families to develop practical, nutritious eating habits that support healthy growth, digestive wellness and lifelong health.

Learn how to recognize, manage and safely navigate food allergies with practical guidance from Yale pediatric specialists. Families will gain everyday strategies for reading food labels, preventing allergic reactions and building confidence around healthy, safe eating.
Meet the speakers

Dr. Stephanie Leeds
Dr. Leeds an Associate Professor of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology, with a specific interest and expertise in food allergy. Dr. Leeds graduated summa cum laude from Tufts University with a degree in literature and studied medicine at the University of Chicago. She completed her pediatrics residency at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and her allergy and immunology fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Leeds has published research on food allergy, drug allergy and immuno deficiency disorders, but she is most interested in the natural history, clinical manifestations, novel treatments and educational challenges of food allergy.

Julia is a pediatric dietitian with Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital specializing in pediatric food allergies and food allergy prevention. She works closely with Yale pediatric allergists to help childrenand families safely manage food allergies while maintaining balanced, nutritious diets. Her expertise includes early allergen introduction, food allergy prevention, oral food challenges, food hypersensitivity, FPIES, eosinophilic esophagitis and nutrition counseling for children with food allergies. Julia is passionate about helping families build confidence aroundsafe, healthy eating through practical, evidence-based guidance.
